Steel rule comes in a wide selection of brands, types and specifications and we stock a large inventory on our floor to be ready for any steel rule die project. Specializing in taller rule, our expert die makers can bend up to 4" tall rule that is 4pt thick and 2" rule up to 6pt. thick. Serrated rule in many types and specifications is stocked on our floor as well. Whatever your need, Key Dies can help you chose the best rule type for your application, material and machine.
Key Dies' experienced staff can include special features in dies when requested; like knock out and interior features or weight-reduction cut outs. Ejection rubber can be water jet cut in a variety of thicknesses and durometers. Welding joints directly or adding a cleat weld to the joint can be done for added strength. Brazing can also be added to help reduce or eliminate nicks at the joint.
Key Dies can supply your in-house die shop with laser burn-only boards as well as pre-bent replacement cavities and rule sections for replacement in your die shop. We offer die bases made of wood, steel, aluminum or a composite material that stands up to high temperatures of heated platens. Polycarbonate, stainless steel and aluminum based dies are also available on a special order basis. We also provide reverse engineering of supplied parts and cutting of prototypes and material samples using our water jet system, laser system or CAD cutting table.
Steel rule dies can be maintained for many years by inserting new rule into existing dies. We can replace steel rule in most dies made in any shop as long as the die board is in good condition. If you have any questions, give us a call today!
