Value Added Services
Because we operate two production shifts, Key Dies can keep up with your most urgent schedules with responsive customer service and quick turn times. Our shop is full of highly skilled tradesmen working hard to get your dies completed on time. When you call us, you will speak to a person from early in the morning till the end of second shift. Your time will not be wasted with complicated automated systems and voice mails.
Prototyping
Our expert staff in the CAD department uses CIMEX software on simple to complex designs every day. Consequently, with our two full sized plotting tables, we can cut out the most complicated prototypes from supplied files on a variety of materials from our inventory or supplied by our customer. Our prototypes are within +/- .015 inches.
Reverse Engineering
Using our vast knowledge of the industries we serve, we can generate cutting die-related CAD files from nearly any supplied finished part. From thermoformed clamshells to printed press forms we have the ability to engineer the file and supply production prints or die files for approval.
Design
Our exposure to many clients and industries gives us the technical background to design a steel rule die for your project.
Technical
Our experienced staff is available for your help in die and related tooling design and offer the following technical service to all of our clients: inspection reports, tolerance reports, quality vendor status, advice on machine setup and improving the life of your cutting dies and tooling. We are a proud member of IADD and as such have a broad base of information and resources available to pass on. We also offer file format translation.
Quality Control
Complete Process Inspection - the work from every department is double checked for accuracy and tolerance. Every die being made has a "mylar". This is a 1:1 CAD rendering of the cut line. The "mylar" is used at multiple stages through the manufacturing process to check the accuracy.
Key Dies guarantees the tolerance of every die we manufacture. We can perform inspection reports of dies as well as finished parts. Job-specific customer specifications are updated frequently to match the guidelines of each customer. These specs are posted to every job ticket and available to every department involved in the process.
Contract Cutting Services
Key Dies offers laser and water jet cutting services to machine shops, machine manufacturers, display companies and many other manufacturing companies. Our water jet and laser cutting systems are both larger capacity machines and can handle relatively tight tolerances on finished parts.
