History

In 1988, a new enterprise was incorporated under the name Key Dies Inc. Started with just three employees, they began making all the dies using hand cut jig saws and hand bending all the rule. Those first employees are still with the company, managing and directing the daily production of dies and tooling.

In 1993, Key Dies moved their technology forward with the purchase of a laser cutting system. Over the course of the next few years, Key Dies added automatic rule bending and a water jet cutting system to their list of capabilities. Today, Key Dies has four automatic rule benders, a laser, a water jet and a host of other metals, wood working and fabrication machines to keep up with the growing demand of our customers.

While technology has improved, our staff of die makers has been with the company for years, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to every die and tooling project. The talent of hand craftsmanship, when it pertains to steel rule dies, should never be underestimated. The Key Dies staff are some of the best in the industry!

In 2009, Key Dies moved from its former location to the new 24,000 square foot facility. The shop is clean and well organized with ample room for anticipated future expansion.

Today, Key Dies is 25 employees strong and operates two shifts. We have the technical craftsmanship and technology to manufacture high quality and accurate tooling for your die cutting operation.
